Problem With Cd Trays On Cd-dh950p

I just purchased the CD-DH950P and I'm having a problem with the CD trays opening and closing. Am I missing something or is there a problem with the trays? When I push the open/close button, I hear a sound like something is trying to open them, but they just don't open. At one point I got a ER-CD21 error message.
