Buttons A & B Of Seiko Duo Watch H801 Are Not Working Correctly.

Somehow the calendar has changed to "1 1 SU". Pressing button A does not change the display, but it chimes with alarm & hourly signals as if B is also down. Holding A produces the alarm. B does not illuminate the display. Any way to make B work correctly? Would a smear of oil help?
