Seagate Barracuda Format Troubleshoot.

Hi there, we have just brought a Seagate Barracuda HDD, model No st340014a we have a CPU that take st340015a.Is this HDD compatible with our CPU ?? & also we can not format this HDD are there any solutions ?? Thank you.
