Seagate Bd862-561 Powers Up Ok But When Usb Is Connected Green Light Goes Off.
have tried different usb cable no change.fan still running, some times asks if re-format is required but then returns 'unable to reformat'.have tried on pc and laptop same results.

If the unit has not failed hardware wise then take a look at this link as it refers to problems using the drive in Windows Vista and 7. If it not any help then please re-post with anymore info you can and we can take a second look.
