An exhaust leak is a place somewhere in your exhaust system where exhaust is escaping. It can be caused by a bad gasket, cracked manifold, loose bolts or even a pin hole from rust.
You can hear an exhaust leak if your car has one. It is a tick tick tick sound if it is small or just a lot of noise if it ia a major leak.
Most exhaust leaks are fixable without having to buy new parts other than a cheap gasket. They are usually a pain in the rear to replace, but with a little patience it can be done.
