Universal Remote Closed Captions

To control the captioning you need the remote that comes with the unit--not a universal remote. (Sorry.) Press the CAPTION key repeatedly until you're pressing OFF.

If you don't have the dedicated Sanyo remote: First try Sanyo. If you can't get what you need there (use the contact information here--https://www.contacthelp.com/sanyo/customer-service), try https://www.remotes.net/. For used, I recommend http://www.searchtempest.com/,* which will provide many useful filters, will let you search locally or country-wide and even globally, and covers Craigslist, eBay, Amazon, and many other sources.

Step 1

Press the yellow button on your DirecTV remote, which will be located underneath the arrow keys, to bring up the on-screen menu.

Step 2

Press the right arrow until you are highlighting the "CC" menu.

Step 3

Press the down arrow to highlight the "Off" option that appears as one of three options under the "CC" menu. Press the "Select" button, located in the middle of the arrow keys, to make this selection. Your DirecTV subtitles will now be disabled.
