Two small screws holding the bottom of the silver frame for the control panel. Remove. Remove frame by pulling out at bottom.
Gently pry the top from the bottom by inserting a thin screwdriver (or table knive) in the slit.
Remove the thin panel with the labels. Start by cutting the tape on either side and then pry the panel away. It is glued on in addition to the tape. It is quite strong.
Under the panel there are three screws. Remove. The control panel can now be removed by pulling down.
Now the tricky part (if the above was not enough). The battery is solder onto the circuit board. You can remove the old battery by unsoldering. I was not successful finding a CR2032 with "wires" but did find a battery holder for a CR2032 with leads exactly spaced as the wires on the battery that was removed. Solder the holder to the board.
Insert the new battery and be sure that the display comes on. You can NOT set the time without pluging the unit in. As long as the display shows digits, you have been successful.
Reverse all of the take apart steps.
