Please Help. Sanyo Ecj-hc55h

My rice cooker digital panel is not working anymore, it is totally blank unless it is plugged in. Does it need new battery? If so, does it need to be replaced? What kind of battery? And can I replace it myself? Please advise.Thank you,Imee

This cooker has no battery backup, so the display will not work unless it is plugged in to the wall socket. If the display doesn't function properly while powered on then the display panel is failing & will need service or replacement.
