Samsung Rb215bssb Icemaker Only Works When Test Button Is Pressed

This problem seemed to have started when my freezer started having a build up of ice on the back wall of freezer. My husband (also electrician) melted all the ice buildup and removed dust from coils in the back of fridge. I waited 48 hours after I turned my ice maker back on but it just doesn't respond. Then I pushed the reset button and the ice tray dumps the ice and water fills the tray but that is all.
