How Do You Keep A Detector Swich In The Up Postion To Make Tv Work ? Aa41-00756c

TV only works if I tape arm in up/on position. How do I avoid this and make swich work ? Is taping arm bad for the operation of the Samsung TV ?

The set will only work if the switch arm is in the up position and taped or the wires are wrapped around the arm to hold it in this position.

When the lamp door is in positon it presses this arm up, so the set knows that the back is on and the door is closed.
