If your copier is set to double side by default, you can do single-sided copies by deselecting the double-sided icon in the middle of the screen (it looks like two single-sided pages with an arrow pointing to a double-sided page).

To set single sided as the default, first deselect double sided, then press the Program button. Follow the prompts to program the current settings as the default settings.
