Connect the receiver to the television via HDMI cable. The receiver has only one HDMI output connection that should be connected to the HDMI input on the television. This cable carries both sound and video. There is no need to send signal from the TV to the receiver. The only connection to the TV should be the HDMI cable from the receiver. Make sure to tell the television which input to monitor (i.e, HDMI-1). The receiver source selection (i.e., DVD) will determine which video signal the TV receives. In the case of a DVD, the sound will go through the receiver and to the speaker system.
