I Purchased My Unit In January Of 2014 And The Rechargeable Battery Won't Charge

I have owned this unit for almost two years and twice I've had battery charging problems. Both times they were caused by corrosion on the positive battery lead (the red one). The fix is to remove the four Phillips screws from the lower rear battery chamber and remove the panel, prying gently on the edges with a butter knife or similar object. Once inside (of course it's unplugged, right?), wiggle the two wire connectors apart for both the black and red leads. Remove corrosion by applying a paste of baking soda and water and let it fizz, rinse several times by swabbing with a Q-tip, keeping a paper towel under everything to sop up moisture. When the leads are all clean, blow dry and apply an electrical contact grease. Reassemble and I bet the charger will now work. These batteries are cheap and readily available online, too.
