Ssps Instructions

Is there any specific critical steps that are needed to replace the SSPS, mine was damaged on the harness ( tore apart in a collision)  and I just put the harness back but it is not working, panel light still on and steering wheel is hard to move besides the Check engineer on  odometer not indicating the speed.
