Weak Remote Key Battery For A 2009 Pontiac Solstice

Will the engine light come on due to having a weak remote key battery. Prior to changing the remote battery, I had a problem with the renote locking the doors. In time the problem got worse. Then the engine light started coming on. After the remote battery was replaced the remote functions work fine and the engine light does not come on. The question I have is: Does a weak remote key battery cause the engine light come on.
