Pontiac G6 Gt 2009 Brake Lights

Sometimes My brakes lights are on as if I am riding my brakes, and sometimes when I hit the brakes to brake my brake lights go out as If I am not using my brakes. This wouldnt do it the other day when I went to show someone what it was doing. I notice the problem when I was following my daughter the other night and I asked her if she was riding her brake.
