Fuel Light On Constantly

I have 58 k miles. at 40 k, the warranty covered replacing an emmission coil NOW, the fuel light is constantly ON (happened while driving home), with a fuel tank, and the transmission is not down shifting (or up shifting?) smoothly... doesn't want to come out 2nd... i have to put it on hold and start in L2.... Its due for a transmission fluid replacement.... it can't be that simple... can it?

No this is sounds like your cars central computer, possibly a bad wiring harness. you need to bring this to a certified shop asap, shorts of this nature can lead to fires under the right circumstances.

Try plugging the old ECU(engine control unit ) back in to see if it is that causing your problem. If not it could be the thermistor fuel level sensor in the fuel tank, wired to the fuel pump
