How To Remove The Black Plastic Cover That Is On The Top Of The Engine.the Cover

when you open the hood there is a black plastic ,witch covers the top of the engine,I want to remove it to change my egr valve but it won't come off due to where you fill your oil it will not let me ,does the tube where you place the oil turn out,then I can get the cover off,2007 pontiac torrent
