Is the air conditioning unit you're having problems with for your vehicle or your residence?  If it's a vehicle air conditioning unit, check the fuse that controls the A/C, it might have blown.  If the fuse is good, check the coolant and then the compressor.

If it is a home A/C unit, there could be many different things wrong.  A capacitor could have blown, the compressor could be bad, or something else could have broken down inside.  Check the drain pipes leading away from the unit and clean them to make sure there isn't a clog anywhere preventing the water from escaping.  Also look around the unit for any leaks.
