It's Seems My Transmission Oil Level Is Over Hot Mark On The Stick By 1/2 Inch.

It's seems my transmission oil level is over hot mark on the stick by 1/2 inch. So far no problem in city driving, but when Im getting out on the highway 115-125 km/h I feel some strange smell in the car, like something burning. When speed is reduced to 100-110 smell disappears. Is it possible the cost of smell because the oil level over than necessary? If so, than how to remove excess of oil. Thanks in advance.
