01 Grand Prix 3.1

2001 Grand Prix 3.1 has no power and hesitates when I give it gas it goes up to about 20mph then bogs down  when I floor it it jumps like its going to speed up but has no power to move and very slowly goes up and will not go past about 4200 rpm or 63mph. I've found numerous articles about the same thing an have heard it could be numerous things. Ibe also heard that one person drought it in and they couldn't find anything wrong with the car what could the problem be?
