Starter For 97 Bonneville Ssei, Whats Involved In Replacing The Starter??

can u please advise how difficult replacing the starter is?  Trying to find out how many connections and how many screws if possible?  If the wiring harness was deteriorating, could it possibly be just that part or probably the whole starter?  Is there a way to check without taking the car in first as it will not move and i cannot afford to tow it.  Your help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you very much!
