How Do I Start Playing A Disk On My Portable Video Player

i have not used the player for years. i came across a disk that i would like to play. i do not have an instruction book and i keep gettin amessage that says that something is locked. what should i do  .e  the model no. is pdm8551 thank youfor any help you can give me.
