I Dont Understand How To Put My New Password On My Playstation 3 Helps Plz.

I recently downloaded the upgrade to the playstation 3 network and now i tried to sign in it said my old password didnt work anymore so i backed out and tried to put a new password but i cant get back to the screen anymore and now it says that my old password is no longer valid and it diditn give me the screen i think i was supposed to get now im trying to figure out how im supposed to resign into the network and create a new password. I have tried callign them but they said there phones are busy and when i got through to an area where i was promised a live person i was told they didnt have the time. So now im trying to figure out how to make a new password so i can sign into the playstation network. I live in the United States in Illinois if that means anything.
