This Software Can Only Be Installed With A Pioneer Device... On Pioneer Bdr-xd04
Just bought this new player/recorder at BestBuy.
After instalation of the Hardware, tried to install the 'on-box' software and after few times, no joy. I get the same message: This software can only be installed with a PIONEER device...
Even tough the device is identified as Pionner BD-RW BDR-XD04 USB Device.
I'm trying this on a Fujitsu Laptop model T5010.

I had the same issue. I was able to install the software only after removing all other CD/DVD/Optical-drives from the system. This includes virtual drives such as those created by programs like PowerISO. Hopefully the drive on your laptop can be easily removed/ejected.
You may be able to get the software to install by disabling all other CD/DVD/Optical-drives within Device Manager. As long as the BDR-XD04 is the only optical drive the computer (and software installer) "sees," the software should install.
This is a ridiculous hoop to have to jump through of course, as long as the software installer "sees" that there is a Pioneer drive attached to the computer, it should allow the install. Shame on Pioneer and Cyberlink for such a ridiculous install process.
Anyway, try removing (or disabling in Device Manager) all other CD/DVD drives except the Pioneer and try the install, my guess is that either way (physically removing the drives or simply disabling them) the software will install). Good luck...

During the installation of the cyberlink software, the BDR-XD04 drive must be connected and recognized by the PC. If the software does not see the XD04 drive, it will not proceed with the software installation. Ensure the 2 USB ports are connected and the OS sees the drive. If that doesn't work, try connecting to another USB port. Other optical drives should not matter, but virtual drives may be an issue.
