Unplug your machine. Gather a good directional light, your best tweezers and magnifying glass. Tilt the machine as far back as it can safely go. Start by removing any accumulated lint without being aggressive with the machine's components. Then, get intimate with the machine and use the light and magnifying glass to search out a tiny nub or shred of thread. Grasp what you find. Only exert very gentle tension on it as you manually work the hand wheel. Whatever tiny motion you can get in the hand wheel, slowly ease it back and forth as you exert tension on the thread nub that you are holding onto with the tweezers. Sometimes you do better by trying to work the thread one way or another, either clockwise or counter clockwise.
I hope that this is your problem. I've found that an amazing amount of thread can get wound around in there. It requires a lot of patience and a very gentle hand as you don't want to break the thread once you get it started. The machines are so forgiving that there can sometimes be more than one thread stuck in their. If you get one out, do a thorough check ti see if there is one or two more.
This doesn't happen often. It helps to be sure that the thread tails are always long enough to pull both under the sewing foot and back and slightly to your left before sewing.
If this doesn't get it, let us know. I've had no other problems with my Pfaff but I do anticipate that eventually the plastic camstack will break and need to be replaced.
How long have you had the machine and have you every had it in for a routine cleaning and servicing?
Best wishes, let us know how you're doing with this.
