First off, never (ever) share personal security answers in this or any other forum. They can often be your only way to verify that you are really *you*. Giving the answers out in a public forum might give a complete stranger the last 'keys to the puzzle' they need to effect a hijack of your Paypal account. Paypal (or any other reputable site) will *never* ask you to reply in email with personal information, open an attachment and load it in a web browser and send replies that way or send you attachments that when received are in ZIP, COM, BAT, DAT, SCR, EXE, etc (executable) file extensions. Nor will Paypal tell you something like "Dear customer or Paypal member (Paypal will always address you by your first and last name) ... We are completing upgrades to our security system and need you to reconfirm who you are. Reply 'here' with your login information and or answers to your security questions and include a credit card that is attached to your account to verify your identity' or words to this effect. Think about it for a second. If they are really Paypal, then they already have that information. They have no need for you to 'reverify' any of it. Seeing *any* of the above is a sure sign that you are dealing with a $pammer and a $cammer out to get your personal information and all of your money they can get their hands on. If *any* of the above has happened, *immediately* log into your Paypal account. If you find you are already locked out, then *immediately* call Paypal at: (866) 888-6080 or at the #'s provided by Odin in another Paypal fraud thread at: 888-221-1161 or 402-935-2050 (thanks, Odin!) and when you reach a live individual request security assistance and tell them you may have compromised your account and after a few questions they will advise you on how best to proceed. Do this right *NOW* ...

Hope that helps ...

If you've forgotten your password and can't provide correct answers to the security questions you may not be able to recover your account. You can however open a new account, with a dfferent email address. (Use a free service like Yahoo or Gmail. Gmail lets you receive your mail at your old email address; see Settings.)

Note that we're an independent help site *not* connected with PayPal.

Hope this is useful. Please don't forget to click the Accept This Answer button if you do accept it. My aim is to provide reliable helpful answers, not just a lot of them. See https://www.helpowl.com/profile/Odin.
