you can do a factory reset to cause the set to go back to the "out-of-the-box" condition. this will enter a self diagnosis mode and stay there until you unplug the AC cord. when plugged back in you will start from scratch:
Self-check indication and forced to factory shipment setting:
Produce TV reception screen, and while pressing [VOLUME ( - )] button on the main unit, press [MENU] button on the remote control for more than 3 seconds.
