Oreck Xl Model Rxl 2600 Hh- How Do U Adjust Levels On Carpet

You didn't state which model you happened to be talking about, but as far as I know, Oreck's are non-adjustable when speaking of carpet height. If it's unlevel, or if you have recently removed the brush bar ( to change belt, or use the second setting) make sure that the little square holders on each end of the bar are matching DIRECTION in the set NOTCHES. They have two settings. The original setting, and then one slightly raised so that the bar will set lower to the floor after wear on the brushes has occured, keeping you from having to replace the entire bar for a little bit longer. If the settings don't match, it will eventually put too much wear on the spin mechanism, which will burn the motor up. If it's not picking up debris as well as you'd like, either the brushes have worn short in length (time to either adjust to second setting, or replace bar) or the bar is setting uneven in the track due to the squares having been moved. An Oreck will last for an incredibly long time if properly maintained, and having those little squares in the correct position play a big part in how hard the motor has to work.
