You might first try checking the battery. Used a wrench to take off the battery cables (take off the negative first) and clean the terminals on the battery and inside the cable connectors with a small piece of sandpaper. Try to get the lead connectors shiny where they contact. Tightly reattach the cables and then try to start the car. If it doesn't start, the next thing to try is to use jumper cables from another running car to yours remembering to connect + to + and - to -. The last negative connection to your car should be made not to your battery but to the metal frame of your car. This is to prevent sparks near the battery which could cause serious problems (i.e. explosion) if flammable gases are produced by your battery. If the car starts, take it to a car parts place where they will do a free battery check. They will test and charge your battery and if there is a problem with it holding a charge, they will tell you. If the car still doesn't start with a jump, there may be a fuel problem (plugged fuel line or fuel injectors if you have them), but there could also be a problem with the starter (e.g. a bad solenoid) or even the ignition switch.
