Your key has a small resistor chip built into the key. If the resistor chip is dirty, your car will not start. It is telling you to wipe off the resistor chip, wait 3 minutes and then try to start the car again.

If the resistor chip is dirty, the security circuit will not be completed. It's basically a way to prevent someone from trying different keys in an attempt to steal your car. When it cannot read the key, it makes you wait 3 minutes and try again. It discourages a would be thief (with multiple keys) from trying to steal your car quickly.

If your car does not start after you wipe off the key, try another key. If that doesn't work, you will have to go to your dealer to have another key made.
