Radiator Leak

There is a sever leak radiator fluid leak up near the firewall, sort of in the center of the car. Close inspection revealed the leak is from a small L shaped rubber adapter. Is it supposed to have a plug, a hose, or what? I cant see anywhere els a hose would go.
