Loading Music Onto Mp3 Player

I just purchased a new, still in the original packaging, nextar MA588 MP3 player and every time I try to load music on it it says the disc is full. When I pulled up the info on my computer, it also said the disc was full. When I turn on the player, it says there are no files on the disc. Is there a cure for this?
