My Extender Does Not Reconize My Network How Do I Fix This?

Mine would not either (wirelessly) so I connected it to the router with a network cable, accessed it at 192.168.1.250, and it saw the network ( I have both wired connections to the router in the office, and wireless downstairs. After setting it up in the office, I moved it downstairs, plugged it in and now had a new network with a nice strong signal.
