A Part Fell Out

When I was removing the coffee pot a part fell out. It is rectangular in shape with one end curved up, had a raised cylinder in the middle and little tips in each side of the other end. I can't figure out how it is supposed to go back in. Please tell/show me how I am supposed to put it back in.
