Says Ev Where 4g Should Be.

why does my phone say EV where it should say 4g and is there a way to fix it?

There is nothing to fix. Your phone is working how it is supposed to. EV is short for EVDO, or 3G. Metropcs only has 4GLTE coverage in limited areas. When you are outside of those areas the phone switches to 3G or 1X if you are outside of the 3G coverage areas. It has no effect on phonecalls. It only effects data speeds. (text messages, metroweb, etc.) Metropcs uses 3 different networks now that T-Mobile bought them out. Your phone will switch between them depending where you are at. 4GLTE is fastest and prefered. EVDO is second prefered. When neither are available your phone switches to the 1x or CDMA network.
