Control Arms.how To Tell Which One's To Replace

i have a 2000 grand marquis.i have change my whole front end from shocks to sway bar bushings.the only thing i haven't changed is the control arm bushing.(they r going bad)but how do i know if its the upper or the lower their are no cracks in none of them.which one would take the most abuse upper or lower....
