Where Is The Starter Located On A 1997 Mercury Mystique 4-cyl

I guess it should help you,
as you didn't specify if it's equipped with the 2.0L 4-cyl. or the 2.5L V6. On the 2.0L 4-cyl. it's mounted on the side of the engine that faces the firewall, situated under the intake manifold. On the V6, if you remove the air cleaner box, and air inlet hose as an assembly, you should be able to see it sitting on top of the transmission. Hope this helps.
