Why Is It That The 800 # Provided Says 'there May Be A Charge For The Phone Call

I am trying to cancel the download I purchased for $34.99 and get this credit put on my M/C acct to which it was originally chgd. It says I have 30 days to do so & I only did this 9/6, but am getting nowhere FAST! The 800# provided says "there may be a charge for this phone call". What's up with that? Aren't 800#numbers like 866. 877, etc. supposed to be free to the caller? This is another ripoff as I have noted in other patrons' comments. Most of them seem to be negative, & I am wondering if I have made the right choice. I was told just today that McAfee is one of the worst sites I could have chosen for an anti-virus download. But I did NOT know and was told by my server that I should get this sonn to protect my computer. It was worse after I did the download. So p-l-e-a-s-e, I need to hear from someone regarding my refund and what I am supposed to do next. A prompt & courteous reply would be greatly appreciated. And I do expect to hear from someone soon on a positive note. I have printed all pertinent info & can provide this if necessary to receive my refund. Thanks in advance. Barbara Heath

Your issue cannot be addressed via this forum. You'll need to call them. They do charge for support but only if you're outside the initial warranty period.

BTW, I recommend Avast antivirus over McAfee. it's free and works just as well.
