2007 Mazda 3 Won't Start

I threw the battery in backwards and connected the cables backwarks. The alarm horn went off and I pulled the cable off. put new battery and starter in but all that happens is a single click. The wires look good, I replaced one of the 4 fuses in the small box within the fuse box. Car clicks once but won't turn over.
