Timing Belt

I have just bought a Miata with 64,000 miles it has not had the timing belt done, I was thinking of changing the timing belt, water pump, radaitor hoses and installing a K&N cold air filter system, is there anything else I should do to avoid problems down the road?  Also I am considering a chip that claims to improve HP and MPG any thoughts?
