what does the error code f 01 mean?

The error code F-01 means that the main control board is bad.
This error is an EEPROM communication failure of the electronic control board and is an internal failure that basically indicates the washer no longer thinks it's a washer. Since the repair requires the board to be replaced.
When you are ordering the correct model using the full model number including the last two digits. If you install the wrong board, you may find yourself trying to fix a self induced problem.
