Loose Refrigerator Door Handle

the door handle lifts off if any upward motion is applied when opening the door. The holding screws in the door are as tight as they go. It seems like shorter screws or shims between the handle & the door are required to achieve a tight door handle. I have watched the Utube videos and tried the "just tighten the screws" repair.....the screws simply hit bottom before they are in far enough to give the tight fit when the handle is lowered into what should be a pressure lock situation
