Water Taste Getting Worse Even With 2 New Filters

I have replaced the water filter 2x in the last 3 months and water taste has gotten increasingly bad. The water out of the tap tastes better. Any advice on how to fix this? (I won't purchase another maytag fridge either.) The fridge side freezes food in the cheese, meat and veggie draws regardless of the low setting in addition we had to shut off the ice maker as it constantly leaked - of course this came about after the warrantly expired.)
