Maytag Gas Dryer Will Not Operate

My front loading Maytag dryer has stopped working. A damp light is lit and a care cycle lamp. It wil not turn on or turn off from these lights. Unplugged and plugged back in. Same thing. It has been very humid here lately. I have repair coming, but not for a few days. What could cause this?
