It has nothing to do with a phone needing to be charged...who ever gave those answers was not reading this question. On Match.com emails. the icon circle with a blue lightening boilt means that the person you have written to has suggested possible first date options on their profile.

E-mails with lightning bolts next to them are, simply put, affectionate gestures.
