Your Device Is Not On This Account.

I received a used MagicJack from my brother. Plugged it in, installed software. Unplugged it, ran MagicJack and registered new account. Plugged in the device, tried to login using my registration userid and password and then it gives me the message "Your device is not on this account". How do I get the device to recognize my new account?

Magic Jack is for life, so the $39.99 he paid is for the life of the Magic Jack. Does it have to stay in their name? Not sure, but it doesn't matter so much as Tech Support and Customer Support is non-existent with Magic Jack. I'm pretty sure you would have to keep the same number. Just understand getting ahold of Magic Jack for support is extremely difficult. If it's free, just use and forget the rest. sorry this may not be very helpful
