Only Getting 480p When Unit Is Hooked Up.

Only getting 480p when unit is hooked up. 1080p without recorder. I have model #MDR535H/F7. Also volume issue. When unit is hooked up "volume" will soften and return back to original volume set. Repeats continuously without touching volume. No "volume" issue when unit not hooked up.
