Macy's Issues Credit So They Can Bill Late Fee And Report Past Due

Closing my card today!!  I have held it since 2000 and have spent a TON of money in the Sacramento Downtown Plaza store as well as in San Francisco and the old Sunrise location in Sacramento.  For the entire time I have held my account, I have do so by paying in store the majority of the time because I shop there about three times a month.  I don't always buy on each trip, but that is only due to the amount of items I have purchased.  I like to pay $50-$100 while in the store and keep a credit.  This counters me paying 21% interest, which is outrageous, and works for me.  Well it did until recently.  Things went sounth last November 2011 when Macy's began using my credit on my account and my history of payment to charge me late fees!!!  How can this happen?  Well with out ryhme or reason a consumer can guage, Dept Stores National Bank sends a refund check which I have never cashed and when in fact I have a credit, they get to show a balance due, charge interest, a late fee and report me as 30-days deliquent to my credit history!  Even without the refund check amount hanging in mid air as I do not cash it, and it reverts back to credit my account, which shows in my credit and payment history, it is the late feels I have paid, which are putting me past due and costing me $$$ and this is all due to giving the company more money as a credit than owed.  Gosh!  I bet all the businesses who can't get paid with they had me as a customer!  Giving a company more money than due to stay ahead of interest and late payments.  Even when calling to dispute a late payment, which I have not done until today in ages...the agent used to credit at least that one late charge or so a year back...which would be nice, but upon calling EDWARD #91011405 and being transferred to the credit manager, all I was told is that per their figures I had two months with a balance due and got charged late fees and reported Feb 20012 and August 2012.  Manager said she would not remove even the last credit report of August 2012 even though I hold a credit of $13.68 and have Sept 1, 2012 letter from S. Larson stating a the last credit check issued has been applied to my balance and again:  Sept 1, 2012 I have a credit for $13.68 and Aug 2012 I am reported as 30 days deliquent?  Well....that sucks!  After 12 years with this account and ALL my shopping for the last 20 years in this store, I am OVER IT.  Sure customer service is down...I can overlook your costs, but so is retail sales and I buy a lot and pay more to keep a credit and this is what happens.  All this changed when DEPT STORES NAT BANK begain this practice.  I was offered no credit back of late fees, no help removing what has been reported, and I will not give my business and money and good referral to a company that is not giving me an EVEN deal.  I am paying more than owed and carrying a credit to remain ahead of the bills!..........and Macy's finds a way to ding me with late fees and even report delinquincies to my credit rating!!!!!!  This is why I am requesting the credit on my account be sent NOW due to CLOSING MY ACCOUNT with a credit on it.  Nice way of doing business fellas!  You just ran off a customer who not only buys a lot, but pays more than owed and keeps a credit on his account.  NONE OF MY OTHER ACCOUNTS screw me by sending a my credit on my accounts to me in a check and then when I think I have a credit, charge me a late fee, report me, and in the case of MACY'S - RUN OFF A GOOD CUSTOMER!  I will never shop in Macy's agian!  With the look of the stores, retail sales must be down as there are less clerks and shappier facilities, which I could tolerate.....but this just sucks.  I'll never shop a wedding registry, let anyone I know register there, or allow anyone I know to not understand this business model.  So much for all the recorder thank yous for my continued patronage and good standing.  Those days are over.John L.
