Emission Light In On

My emission light is on. I tried different types of gasoline during my last fill ups to see if this helped. Now, my car has stalled twice while idling for over a couple of minutes, but fortunately, not during a red light. It was while waiting in a fast food line. What shall I do? I can't get to the repair shop during the week due to my teaching schedule.
